New York Taste

New York Taste is New York Magazine’s signature culinary tasting event that features more than 40 celebrated chefs, mixologists and rising stars on the New York City restaurant scene. For one night, New York and Grub Street’s editors and critics curate a lineup of the city’s top restaurants and bars, drawing from the popular editorial columns the Absolute Best, Where to Eat, and The Thousand Best. The event brings together over 1,000 guests for one night, where they experience the most authentic and diverse tastes of the city.


When and where is New York Taste?

Monday, October 21 at The Waterfront Building located at 269 11th Avenue (between 27th and 28th Streets) in Manhattan. The entrance to the event is on the 11th Avenue side of the building.

How much are tickets?

GENERAL ADMISSION: $130 + tax. This ticket grants access to New York Taste 2019 from 7-9 p.m. and includes:

  • Unlimited tastings from 40+ restaurants, chefs and mixologists (*sampling available while supplies last)

  • Open bar 

VIP: $230 + tax. This ticket grants access to New York Taste 2019 from 6-9 p.m. and includes:

  • VIP Preview Hour (6-7 p.m.), one hour prior to General Admission doors opening (7-9 p.m.)

  • Unlimited tastings from 40+ restaurants, chefs and mixologists, plus exclusive tastings in the VIP Lounge (*sampling available while supplies last)

  • Access to the VIP Lounge including a private open bar and seating 

  • Exclusive gift bag (valued at $200+)

How do guests pick up tickets?

After purchasing your ticket online HERE, you will receive a digital confirmation, and your name will automatically be added to a check-in list. Physical tickets are not required for entry. Tickets are not available for purchase at the door.

Is there an age requirement to attend?

Guests must be 21 years or older to attend. IDs will be checked upon entry, so please plan accordingly. 

Will there be security at check-in?

Yes. Please allow yourself extra time for a line at the door and the check-in process. We will work hard to get everyone in the door as quickly as possible!

Is this a charity event?

Yes! Each year, a portion of New York Taste proceeds are donated to City Harvest, NYC’s largest food rescue organization. City Harvest helps to feed the nearly 1.2 million New Yorkers who are struggling to put meals on their tables. This year, City Harvest will rescue 64 million pounds of food and deliver it, free of charge, to hundreds of food pantries, soup kitchens and other community partners across the five boroughs.
